Modern Country Garden
Despite its stunning setting, the rear of this large country house was underused. The client wanted to fulfil the potential of the external space and create an outdoor dining area to complement their beautiful contemporary kitchen. The design solution improves the use of both house and garden. The polished limestone flooring continues from the kitchen to terrace, creating a sleek dining space with an elegant ‘floating’ bench. Crisply finished Yorkstone steps link the terrace to new lawn areas and a productive kitchen garden. The character of the planting is influenced by the backdrop of native woodland; ornamental grasses and long flowering perennials contrast with the dark limestone and brings the colour of the landscape into the home.
